Replacing The Oil And Oil Filter On A Fiat Panda 1.3 JTDM (EURO6)





To access the oil filter housing we disconnect the air intake hose and MAFF sensor from the air box to make it easier. This 'How To' is based on a 4x4 model.

Undo the x8 M10 bolts to the metal undertray and remove the undertray (we remove this first to prevent having to clean off any oil spillage)

Unclip the crimp clip at the end of the MAFF (air flow meter) to the air filter housing.

Unplug the connector to the MAFF.

Undo the 7mm jubilee clip to the throttle body and pull free the flexi hose.

Unscrew the 27mm oil filter housing cap. You may want to position an old rag or paper towels under the oil filter housing to soak up the oil leakage and to stop oil from running onto the auxiliary belt.

Remove the housing cap and oil filter.

Remove the oil filter from the housing cap.

Prise off the old sealing ring and replace it with a new one then insert the new oil filter.

Screw the housing cap back into place at 25nm and clean off any oil spillage. Reconnect the air intake hose.

Undo the T45 (Torx) sump plug.

Make sure you have an appropriate container to catch the waste oil.

Replace the O ring seal with a new one and screw the sump plug back into the sump.

Unscrew the oil filler cap.

Pour in 3.9 litres of 0w-30 Wide Range oil and screw the oil filler cap back on.

Briefly start the engine to circulate the oil.

The dip stick is located by the fuel filter housing.

Pull out the dip stick, wipe it, put it back then take it out again to check the oil level. If the level is low then top up accordingly. Replace the undertray.
