Replacing The Oil And Oil Filter On A Fiat Tipo 1.3 Diesel

Pull off the plastic engine cover.

Undo the 7mm jubilee clamp to the inlet pipe going to the throttle body.

Release the crimp clip to the other end of the intake pipe coming from the air filter housing.

Remove the securing strap for the wiring loom to the air flow meter (MAF) and remove the intake pipe.

Place some rag under the oil filter housing to soak up leakage then unscrew the 27mm plastic oil filter housing cap.

Remove the cap and filter.

border='1'

Extract the old oil filter from the cap.

border='1'

Prise off the old oil seal.

border='1'

Insert the new oil filter into the cap then screw the cap back into the oil filter housing, torque to 25nm.

Unscrew the x5 Phillips screws to the undertray.

border='1'

There's x2 10mm bolts at both front corners.

border='1'

Undo the x2 13mm bolts to the rear of the undertray and remove the undertray.

border='1'

Put a suitable catch tray underneath the sump and undo the T45 sump bolt.

Drain the waste oil.

border='1'

Prise off the old sump plug o-ring and replace with a new one. Screw the sump plug back into the sump.

Unscrew the oil filler cap.

Pour in 3.9 litres of SELENIA WR Forward 0W-30 engine oil.

Screw the oil filler cap back in, reconnect the intake pipe from the air filter housing to the throttle body and briefly start the engine to circulate the oil.

Pull out the dipstick, wipe, replace fully then pull out again to gain a level reading. Top up if required until the oil level reads MAX then replace all other parts.
